Grateful
Today is the first day of the year and I thought it would be great to start this year by being grateful. The word 'Grateful' means 'to be thankful'. Being grateful may just seem like a small simple action but honestly it has a lot of benefits.
I have read in various manifestation articles, that being grateful acts like a catalyst to the process of manifestations. I am really unaware of how effective the above mentioned benefit is but that is something what all of us can think about. Another benefit that I have read about is that, maintaining a 'Gratitude list' has a positive effect a person's mood. It is believed that people should write down what they are grateful for before starting their day off or before ending it. Either way it helps in elevating a person's mood.
I personally practice this method and honestly it has been extremely helpful. The sense of peace and happiness you get after writing a gratitude list is undesirable. It may sound bogus to engage in such activities but has a more scientific reason in helping to elevate one's mood.Usually it is the tendency of a human mind to focus on the bad aspects of life but practicing this kind of activity helps in redirecting our attention to the positives of life. It helps our mind to focus on the small things in life that makes life better.
I really believe that it is a great mental exercise and would recommend it to people struggling mentally. It is not necessary that one should get their pen and paper out, and make a list. A small habit of being mindful about people and things they are thankful also can be helpful.
I would want to end it here by asking a question 'What are you grateful for ?'
